Pacific Clean Fuels, Powered by Papé, has announced a major hydrogen fueling partnership with Hyroad Energy and OneH2 that will support what is expected to become California’s largest hydrogen truck fleet deployment. Commercial operations are scheduled to begin in January 2026, marking a significant step toward expanding zero-emission freight movement through the state’s busiest logistics corridor.

Strengthening Hydrogen Trucking Through Strategic Collaboration

As part of Hyroad Energy’s large-scale investment in zero-emission transportation, the three companies are combining their capabilities to ensure fleet reliability and daily operational continuity:

    • Hyroad Energy: Leading the transition by investing in 113 Nikola hydrogen fuel-cell Class 8 trucks.

    • OneH2: Supplying advanced hydrogen fueling and dispensing systems optimized for heavy-duty operations.

    • Pacific Clean Fuels: Providing hydrogen transportation and fueling infrastructure to enable safe, efficient, and continuous fueling access.

“Pacific Clean Fuels is proving that hydrogen infrastructure is ready for commercial-scale deployment today,” said Gabriel Olson, Director of Alternative Energy and Infrastructure. “Supported by OneH2 and Papé’s investment and operational capabilities, our 24/7 station shows that hydrogen as a transportation fuel is no longer theoretical—fleets can achieve both financial and emission reduction targets now.”

“This partnership shows what becomes possible when infrastructure providers, technology innovators, and fleet operators work toward the same goal,” said Dmitry Serov, CEO and Founder of Hyroad Energy. “Together, we are demonstrating that hydrogen trucking is already happening at scale in California’s most essential freight corridors.”

“OneH2 has spent years building practical fueling systems that meet real operational demands,” said Emmanuel Ewaleifoh, Regional Manager for OneH2. “This collaboration allows us to extend that experience and support infrastructure that balances safety, performance, cost, and long-term sustainability.”

A Scalable Model for Zero-Emission Freight

The initiative represents a balanced, shared-responsibility model that accelerates fleet adoption while managing investment risk. Hyroad’s truck-as-a-service model reduces the need for upfront capital expenditures, while OneH2’s technology and Pacific Clean Fuels’ infrastructure investment ensure trucks can remain in continuous operation. Hydrogen fuel provides a zero tailpipe emission solution that supports clean-air targets for communities near the Port of Long Beach.

    Safety, Compliance, and Community Engagement

Pacific Clean Fuels and OneH2 have built extensive safety measures into the fueling facility, operating fully in compliance with federal and state safety regulations. The companies work closely with fire marshals, OSHA, and local stakeholders to uphold the highest standards of safety, environmental stewardship, and community benefit.
