Japan’s Mitsui to start off self-driving truck transportation small business
TOKYO — Japanese investing property Mitsui & Co. will start a logistics enterprise utilizing self-driving trucks as early as 2026, Nikkei has discovered.
The shift comes as Japan amended a legislation in April, making it possible for stage-4 autonomous vehicles to run on public roadways. A higher level of autonomous driving engineering is envisioned to be place to practical use, in particular in the logistics sector, which suffers from a persistent labor scarcity in Japan.
