JinkoSolar is reaching new heights. Following N-type modules, industrial storage batteries are taking the world by storm!

JinkoSolar's solar modules will be the world's No. 1 in shipment volume in the first half of 2022. Sales are driven by the N-type TOPCon technology flagship model "Tiger Neo." We asked JinkoSolar Japan President Wei Wei Sun about their omnidirectional distributed energy solution strategy, including industrial storage batteries.
Overwhelming amount of power generated by N-type modules
Significant contribution to reducing LCOE
Jinkosolar is a leading manufacturer of solar modules. In the first half of 2022, the global solar module shipment volume bloomed to the top. Among them, the shipment volume of JinkoSolar's main product "Tiger Neo" series is outstanding for N-type modules, which are becoming the world's mainstream instead of P-type. Of JinkoSolar's overall shipment volume of 40GW in 2022, N-type modules are expected to account for about 10GW, or 25%. Weiwei Son, president of JinkoSolar Japan, predicts, "Next year, we expect the Tiger Neo series of N-type TOPCon technology to continue to grow, reaching 50 to 60% of the Japanese market."
One of the attractions of N-type TOPCon technology is its high conversion efficiency. The conversion efficiency of the Tiger Neo series exceeded 24.8% on average, and the highest conversion efficiency reached 25.7% based on the latest experiments. As a result, power generation is expected to increase by 3 to 4% compared to conventional P-type modules, greatly reducing LCOE (levelized cost of electricity). In addition, the Tiger Neo series double-sided module can generate 85% more power on the back side than on the front side, further increasing the LCOE reduction effect. The deterioration rate in the first year is 1% or less, and 87.4% output can be maintained even after 30 years, which is the linear output warranty period of the Tiger Neo series.

A 360° Decentralized Solution
Lifting the ban on industrial storage batteries in Japan
In July of this year, JinkoSolar launched a new “1+2+3+N” strategy to strengthen its distributed energy solutions. "1" stands for solar modules, "2" for storage batteries, "3" for financial services, and "N" for N-type TOPCon technology. It has the meaning of focusing on distributed energy solutions in all directions.
In Japan, JinkoSolar has been known as the top manufacturer of solar modules. It is still fresh in my memory that I read a big topic last year when the SUNTANK home storage battery was released. Mr. Son said, "JinkoSolar's home storage battery SUNTANK has already acquired the necessary certifications such as JET certification and ECHONET Lite standards. Together with solar modules, we are promoting a one-stop distributed energy solution. I'm coming," he insisted.
At the webinar held on October 5, the company expressed its intention to strengthen the industrial storage battery business in Japan as well. JinkoSolar's industrial storage battery business is ahead of the rest of the world, and we already have a lineup of "storage station" class large-capacity storage batteries and DC (direct current) link types that can be charged directly with solar power. In July of this year, a 20MWh lithium-ion battery was introduced in China's Zhejiang province as a countermeasure against power usage restrictions during the summer season. In Japan, the development of a new system called grid storage battery is progressing. JinkoSolar is expected to make further strides in the market for new large storage batteries.
