EcoStyle Establishes Solar Farming Corporation

On July 10, Eco Style (Osaka City) announced the establishment of Eco Style Agri, an agricultural corporation specializing in solar sharing (agricultural solar power generation).
The new company will produce Sakaki (a type of Japanese sakaki tree) and Sansho (a type of Japanese pepper) for solar sharing, for which Ecostyle has collected and developed land for power plants using abandoned farmland of the first class, and provided EPC (engineering, procurement, construction) and O&M (operation and maintenance). The head office will be located in Hiroshima City, and the date of establishment will be July 1st.
Ecostyle will be in charge of EPC and O&M for low-voltage solar sharing owned by Chugoku Electric Power as a power generation company, and will start operating 55 units in fiscal year 2023. The farming company is Irodori no Sakaki (Ome City, Tokyo). In fiscal year 2024, the new company and Irodori no Sakaki will cooperate to advance farming.
Due to the aging of agricultural workers and a lack of successors, the amount of abandoned farmland is estimated at 425,000 hectares, and is expected to continue to increase. Ecostyle says that through its solar sharing business, it will contribute to the elimination of abandoned farmland, the maintenance and expansion of farmland, and the revitalization of local communities.
