Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Tetsuo Saito, presented the 2023 White Paper on Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism at a cabinet meeting on June 30. It analyzes the role expected in the field of land, infrastructure and transportation and the current situation due to the advancing digitization, and looks forward to the future image in 50 years. The follow-up results for each measure reported annually have also been updated. It also touches on measures and prospects for building a sustainable construction industry as a leader so that we can continue to work on infrastructure development, maintenance and management, and disaster response.
The white paper consists of two parts: ▽ Changes in lifestyles and society due to digitization ▽ Trends in land, infrastructure and transport administration - Reports on trends in each area of land, infrastructure and transport administration for each policy issue.
In the section on lifestyles and societies that will change with digitalization, we will introduce the results of a public awareness survey conducted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism on the "new image of society in 2050 that will be realized through digitalization." More than 4 out of 5 people in all generations want a society where their lives and livelihoods are protected from disasters, a society where people can receive services that meet their individual needs, and a society where people can choose where they live and how they spend their time. bottom.
Among these, in a society where human lives and livelihoods are protected from disasters, the use of automatic construction machinery and drones will realize completely unmanned construction sites, which will lead to a reduction in the risk of occupational accidents and a solution to the shortage of workers. In the field of disaster prevention, it is expected that digital twins will be effective in estimating and visualizing disaster risks and damage situations, improving the accuracy of prediction information, and reducing disaster risks through early information transmission and dissemination.
The administrative trend, which is updated every year, focuses on "building a sustainable construction industry." We will continue to focus on popularizing the Construction Career Up System (CCUS) and create an environment where technicians can feel the benefits.
