Agreement signed at Karuizawa Town Hall (22nd)

Karuizawa Town, Nagano Prefecture and Plago (Shinagawa, Tokyo), which provides charging services for electric vehicles (EVs), signed a partnership agreement on the 22nd with the aim of promoting charging infrastructure in the town. We will increase the number of charging facilities run by the town and support the development by private businesses such as accommodation facilities and commercial facilities.

All charging services provided by Plago use green power generated by renewable energy, which has a low environmental impact. The charging facility has a high degree of design, and it is said that facility development can be carried out while considering the landscape of the town.

The company's service allows you to make reservations for charging from the app, and you can also distribute coupons so that you can go sightseeing around the area while charging. At the ceremony held on the same day, Mayor Susumu Fujimaki expressed his hopes that "it will lead to new tourism consumption that makes use of charging time."

The town receives many visitors from the Kanto region by car, and with the spread of EVs, the development of a charging environment has become an issue. This is the second case in the prefecture to conclude a partnership agreement with Plago, following Obuse Town.
