It was installed at the "OTS Toyosaki Rent-A-Car Station" in Tomigusuku City, Okinawa Prefecture. Okinawa New Energy Development develops self-consumption solar power based on the on-site PPA model under the name of the solar power supply service “Karurufu”.
A solar power generation facility with an output of 65 kW and a storage battery with a capacity of 13.5 kW were installed. Annual power generation is expected to be 123,000 kWh, accounting for approximately 50% of the facility's power consumption, and reducing CO2 emissions by approximately 64 tons annually. The solar panel is made by Hanwha Q CELLS of South Korea, the power conditioner (PCS) is made by Omron, and the storage battery is made by Tesla.
In the event of a power outage due to a disaster such as a typhoon, electricity will be available from the storage battery outlet installed in the lobby on the first floor. In addition, we will install storage battery outlets in the office, which will lead to enhancement of the function of BCP (Business Continuity Plan).
In the solar power supply service by Karirufu, the customer installs solar power generation equipment and storage batteries with zero initial investment, and provides one-stop support for maintenance and removal. As of July 2023, there are 14 Karirufu operating results for businesses, with a total capacity of 1075 kW. The goal is to achieve a total of 50,000 kW for businesses and homes by 2030.
In addition, this is the first time that the Karirufu has been introduced to folded-plate roofs, which are often used in factories and commercial facilities. Using this time as a model case, we will further promote the use of renewable energy as a mainstay in order to achieve the Okinawa Electric Power Group's goal of "net zero CO2 emissions by 2050."
