TTVN GROUP AND REE JOINT VENTURE REPORTS TO THE PEOPLE'S COMMITTEE OF VINH LONG PROVINCE ON THE 500KV TRANSMISSION PLAN TO RELEASE CAPACITY FOR THE TRA VINH OFFSHORE WIND POWER PLANT PROJECT
On the afternoon of September 12, the investor consortium including Truong Thanh Vietnam Group Joint Stock Company (TTVN Group) and Refrigeration Electrical Engineering Joint Stock Company (REE) together with the consulting unit of the Institute of Energy - Ministry of Industry and Trade had a working session with the People's Committee of Vinh Long province to report and ask for opinions on the investment plan for the 500kV transmission line to release capacity for the Tra Vinh offshore wind power plant.
Attending the working session, on the side of the People's Committee of Vinh Long province were Mr. Nguyen Van Liet - Vice Chairman of the province; standing member, leaders of the Office of the People's Committee of the province, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade and leaders of relevant Departments and Branches of the locality. On the side of the Investor Consortium, there was the participation of Mr. Dang Trung Kien - Chairman of the Board of Directors of TTVN Group and Mr. Nguyen Quang Quyen - Deputy General Director of REE Group.

The Tra Vinh Offshore Wind Power Plant Project proposed by the Consortium with an expected capacity of 1800MW in the offshore waters of Duyen Hai district, Tra Vinh province has attracted the attention and research of many foreign organizations, especially with the participation of the research of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan (METI) and ANRE - Energy Resources Agency; METI approved the Project to be included in the list of 14 projects funded for research and preliminary survey costs under the Asian Green Growth Promotion Program and the Program to promote the development of high-quality energy abroad, including a program to research and evaluate regional transmission infrastructure and a plan to invest in a 500kV power grid to release capacity for the Project. The project is also legally facilitated through many Resolutions of the Government, especially Decision 262/QD-TTg dated April 1, 2024 approving the Plan to implement the VIII Power Plan and Resolution 139/2024/QH15 dated June 28, 2024 of the National Assembly.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Dang Trung Kien - Chairman of TTVN Group Investment Corporation emphasized: “The investor's proposed plan has been studied by the Ministry of Industry and Trade's Energy Institute, and has been appraised by the Japanese Ministry of Industry and Trade (METI) and international consulting units as a feasible plan to connect to the national power system. In addition, Tra Vinh and Hau Giang provinces have agreed in writing to support it; The investment in the 500kV transmission grid to serve the capacity release for the Tra Vinh Offshore Wind Power Project, which is currently in the planning of Tra Vinh province, will contribute to the socio-economic development of Tra Vinh province and the Southwest region, ensuring energy security, realizing the Government's commitments at COP26 and the Net Zero target by 2050. This is also the goal of investors in the energy development plan in the country".

Concluding the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Liet - Vice Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee expressed his agreement with the plan proposed by the Consortium and said that Vinh Long province will soon have an approval document sent to Tra Vinh Provincial People's Committee to synthesize and report to the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Government./.
