ANDPAD usage techniques directly lead to business expansion. Arc improves construction quality with its own construction standards

Ark, a company based in Hokkaido that is expanding its solar power generation business, has been using ANDPAD to improve its operational efficiency since 2016. We take a closer look at how they use ANDPAD, which they say is essential for improving the construction quality of their power plants.

Rooted in Hokkaido, ARK is focusing on decarbonization, focusing on the solar power business. The company operates a wide range of businesses, including industrial mega solar power plants, self-consumption, on-site and off-site PPAs, and residential solar power generation. President Kenji Watanabe, who is originally from Hokkaido, explains the company's roots, "When I left my hometown for work, I realized how blessed Hokkaido is with renewable energy resources. In order to preserve Hokkaido's environment for the future, we have been working toward carbon neutrality for about 20 years."

The company started its industrial solar power generation business in 2016 after a visit to Germany. As the business expanded, including EPC projects and the construction of its own power plants, the amount of work required for business management began to increase.

Therefore, they decided to use the cloud-based construction project management service "ANDPAD" that they had been using in the new housing division for industrial use as well. At the time, it was rare to use a construction management app for the construction of a power plant, and customization of the functions was necessary. "The ANDPAD staff responded quickly to our requests. Now, all of our members, as well as external partner companies, use ANDPAD to share information. When training new employees, we start with a lecture on ANDPAD," says Watanabe, looking back on how they achieved business efficiency.

Arc is also focusing on improving the construction quality of its power plants, with the desire to "ensure that business partners and customers can trust us with their work." In order to quickly report the progress of construction work to clients and others, the company uploads photos of the site to its website every day. These photos are selected from the photo function of ANDPAD. It is said to be popular with owners, as it makes it easy to keep track of the daily progress of construction work.

Two years ago, the company obtained the international standard ISO for quality management. ANDPAD is used to build a check system and manage documents. "ANDPAD is essential to improve work efficiency with a limited number of people. I think that thorough reporting, communication, and consultation through ANDPAD has led to improved quality," says Watanabe, expressing his passion for quality. In the future, he is enthusiastic to launch new businesses related to power storage and hydrogen, and further lead the decarbonization of Hokkaido.
