Many people flocked to the venue, in front of JR Takanawa Gateway Station, and people lined up to see the newly opened facility and took commemorative photos.

In addition to the company's president, Yoichi Kise, former Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, Special Advisor to the Prime Minister Masafumi Mori, Tokyo Metropolitan Government Chief Engineer Kaoru Tanizaki, and Aiko Ward Mayor Seike attended the ceremony.

President Kise expressed his gratitude, saying, "It is only thanks to the support and understanding of the people involved who guided us that this project, which we poured our dreams and passion into for the future, was able to take this first big step." "I want to make this a place where we can work together to realize 'global benefits,' demonstrate the results with various assets, and share them globally," he said.

Between the southern end of the city and the "Shinagawa Station Block" jointly developed by JR East and Keikyu Corporation, there is an area for which development plans have not yet been made public. President Kise expressed his enthusiasm for the development, saying, "We will extend the wing toward Shinagawa Station and create an integrated town connected by a pedestrian deck."

Special Advisor to the Prime Minister Mori read a message from Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru. Prime Minister Ishiba stated his policy of "fully supporting urban infrastructure development through public-private partnerships in the surrounding area so that the effects of the development can be maximized."

Chief Engineer Tanizaki read a message from Tokyo Governor Koike Yuriko. Governor Koike mentioned the "2050 Tokyo Strategy," which sets out the future vision of the metropolitan government, and offered words of support, saying, "I hope that Takanawa Gateway City will be a pioneer in quickly realizing this vision."
The city is divided into four major facilities: THE LINK PILLAR 1, THE LINK PILLAR 2, the Cultural Creation Building, and the Residence Building. The Link Pillar 1 opened on the 27th. Construction of the remaining facilities will continue, with the aim of fully opening in the spring of 2026.
