François Bayrou: a Prime Minister open to hydrogen
The mayor of Pau was appointed Prime Minister by Emmanuel Macron and must therefore appoint a government.
Former minister and High Commissioner for Planning, François Bayrou therefore finds himself at Matignon. The rapid formation of a government is desirable because many issues remain pending, including the revision of the national hydrogen strategy which, according to France Hydrogène, had passed the interministerial stage, and should in principle be published before the end of the year. What can reassure the sector is that the new Prime Minister is familiar with this issue.
In 2023, the city of Pau hosted the Hydrogen Days in the Territories . François Bayrou attended this event and Hydrogen Today was also able to conduct an interview (see our article ). Should we recall that Pau was one of the pioneering cities in France for the deployment of hydrogen buses (the Fébus) and that this choice is not being questioned?
In addition, this territory is promising for natural hydrogen and there are also projects with Téréga Solutions and Elyse Energy. Suffice to say that hydrogen will be welcomed warmly by the new tenant of Matignon.
