On the 28th, the Kakita Tunnel of the Tokai Kanjo Expressway, which is being constructed by Central Nippon Expressway Company in Gifu Prefecture, passed through, and a ceremony was held inside the tunnel pit in Kakita, Kani City on the 28th. Koji Ikeda, General Manager of Nagoya Branch, Shigeki Tomita, Mayor of Kani City, and Shunpei Kaneko, a member of the House of Representatives, attended the event. Through-hole blasting, through-point cleansing, through-point street opening, kagami-biraki, etc. were performed to celebrate the turning point of the four-lane project from Toki JCT to Kani Mitake IC. Construction by Obayashi Corporation.

At the ceremony, Branch Manager Ikeda and others pressed the switch for penetration blasting. When it was confirmed that the tunnel had been completely penetrated, Koichi Akiyama, director of the Obayashi Corporation Kakita Tunnel Construction Office, reported the penetration to Yoshiyasu Fujiwara, director of the Naka Nippon Expressway Gifu Construction Office. Three banzai chants were also performed by those involved.

Branch Manager Ikeda said, "Thanks to the many people involved, we were able to complete the penetration. It was a very difficult construction, but thanks to the technical capabilities of the contractors and cooperating companies, we were able to complete the penetration without any accidents." We will steadily move forward with four lanes with safety as our top priority." Mayor Tomita gave a congratulatory speech, saying, "I am grateful for the steady progress made by the citizens. I would like to make full use of the stock effect."

Yuichi Yamamoto, Managing Executive Officer and General Manager of Nagoya Branch of Obayashi Corporation, said in his acknowledgment of the contractor, "We brought together our technology and experience, followed the schedule and implemented strict quality control. Until completion, we made every effort to ensure quality and the safety of traffic on the service line. I will work on it," he said emphatically.

The length of the Kakita Tunnel is 1,638 meters. The excavation cross-sectional area is about 80 square meters. Adopting NATM, excavation proceeded from the Kani Mitake IC side. The drilling start date is October 26, 2020. The construction period is until October 13, 2011. It is close to the tunnel in service at a distance of about 20 meters. There was also a low earth covering section of about 10 meters, but I was able to penetrate it safely.
