On November 14, Air Water announced that it will install its vertically mounted solar power system “VERPA” across group facilities. The company plans to deploy the system at 14 locations nationwide in fiscal year 2025 and has already completed installation at six sites.

VERPA is a vertical solar power system that can be installed in any space with a width of 2.5 meters, such as along property boundaries, in parking lots, on-site spaces, and roadside areas. Because the panels are set at a height of more than 2 meters above ground, safety fences are unnecessary and the installation area can be shared with other uses.
The new model “VERPA-Mova” features pre-installed foundations, eliminating the need for pile foundations. It can be installed on artificial ground or concrete structures and can also be relocated. The product was showcased for a limited time at the Osaka Kansai Expo.

This system was jointly developed by Air Water and Germany-based Next2Sun. The solar panels are manufactured by Suichoku Solar, the Japanese subsidiary of Next2Sun (headquartered in Yokohama), the power conditioning systems (PCS) are supplied by SolarEdge of Israel, and the mounting frames are produced by Suichoku Solar.
The Air Water Group aims to install 10 MW of solar power generation capacity—equivalent to about 3,300 average households—by fiscal year 2026. With the latest deployment across 14 locations, the total installed capacity will reach 1.3 MW, equivalent to about 430 households, and is expected to reduce annual CO₂ emissions by 590 tonnes. This will bring the total solar capacity installed in FY2025 to 6 MW.
