    The Osaka Prefectural Department of Urban Development has announced that it is reviewing local relations regarding the "Second-level Sumiyoshi River Underground Regulation Reservoir Construction Work (Kumatori Historical Park)", scheduled ​will be publicly announced in the second quarter for open competitive bidding (WTO topic, comprehensive evaluation method) The order is temporarily canceled to proceed with coordination between the company and Kumatori Town. The construction site is Kumatori Historical Park (Konya 1-4, Kumatori Town) and discussions are currently underway regarding access roads around the site. Once discussions are complete, the detailed design will be revised and a date for open tendering for the construction work will be considered. The expected construction period is 50 months.

    The Kumatori Historical Park underground regulation pond is one of the projects included in the Sano River Improvement Project. According to the contract summary of ``Sumiyoshi River Level 2 (R4) Detailed Design Committee'' (contractor: Ace Co., Ltd., Chuo Ward, Osaka City), the storage capacity of the underground control pond is 15,000 m3. meters.

    The Sano River System Improvement Project is being conducted on the basins of three rivers (basin area: 10.5 km2): Sano River, Sumiyoshi River and Tenzan River flowing through Izumisano City and Kumatori Town. The project's flood control objective is to prevent lower-level flooding in the area due to rainfall of approximately 50 mm/hour and prevent upper-level flooding due to heavy rain of approximately 65 mm/hour. In addition to excavating river channels and constructing new control ponds, we will use existing control ponds and reservoirs to improve flood control safety. The total project cost is about 8.28 billion yen.

    The river reclamation is planned to be about 2.4 km long on the Sumiyoshi River. An underground regulation pond is expected to be installed at Kumatori Historical Park upstream of Mukaida Bridge.

    The park has an area of ​​3,676 square meters. The facility utilizes historic assets such as the former brick Nakabayashi cotton mill and the Nakaya housing estate, and has been developed so that the Kumatori Exchange Center, an adjacent community center, also has can be used in an integrated way.
