On the 23rd, ENEOS launched the DAC (Direct Air Capture) device that directly captures carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere to the press at the Central Institute of Technological Research (Yokohama City). The company has been conducting demonstration tests on the DAC device since December last year and is currently verifying the amount and concentration of CO2 recovered. In the future, the idea is to produce synthetic fuels using CO2 and hydrogen recovered using a DAC device.

A DAC device captures CO2 directly from the atmosphere. Air is sucked in from the right side and CO2 is adsorbed by the filter.
