The Kakegawa City Sanitary Ware Association and Kikugawa in Shizuoka Prefecture will begin an environmental impact assessment study in 2024 to prepare for the construction of a new waste treatment facility, as well as prepare information Required specifications and standards. The company plans to begin the business operator selection process in fiscal 2025. The new facility, like the current facility, will only handle general waste. The aim is to start operations in April 2030.

The association-run Environmental Resources Gallery (Mansui, Kakegawa City) began operations in September 2005. The approximately 4.7-hectare site includes the factory, administrative building and warehouse. The gasification and smelting facility has a processing capacity of 140 tons/day (70 tons x 2 furnaces), but processing often has to be outsourced due to furnace failures. The Recycle Plaza facility has been shut down due to a fire.
The new facility has a processing capacity of 120 tons/day (60 tons x 2 furnaces) and uses the furnace method. The processing capacity of the new material recycling promotion facility is 10 tons per day (5 hours). The construction site is south of the Environmental Resources Gallery. The project will be a public facility + long-term comprehensive management contract.
Until the new facility is completed, we will consider continuing to use the current facility or using it as a transfer facility to transport waste outside, comparing and considering cost effectiveness as well as stable waste treatment capacity to determine.
The basic policy for the development of new facilities will be announced in the future. In 2024, we plan to proceed with the preparation of technical specifications and necessary standard documents in preparation for the open recruitment of business operators.
