Shimizu Corporation / Save labor when tying floor reinforcement bars, reduce physical stress by standing up

Shimizu Corporation and Ken Robotech (Miki-machi, Kagawa Prefecture, President and CEO: Tatsuya Manabe) have developed an auxiliary device that saves labor in the work of tying steel plate reinforcement bars. By attaching a pre-made steel tie machine to the head, you can tie the steel under your feet while standing. Avoid repetitive bending and stretching movements that put a lot of pressure on the body. By wearing a belt with a spring mechanism, you can reduce stress on your arms. This system will be used at Shimizu's construction sites, and both parties will jointly prepare for outside sales.

Rebar support device (from press release)

The purpose is to improve the productivity of rebar work and reduce the physical burden on workers. There is an extension handle equipped with a rebar binding machine attachment/detachment mechanism at the end, and it is connected to the extension handle through a movable arm. The installation of the rebar tying machine is completed by simply opening the cover of the attachment/detachment mechanism and installing the tying machine in the predetermined position.

The trigger of the tying machine is pulled by pushing the handle down from just above the tying point. To accommodate this, the tying strap wraps around the intersections of the rebars. Not only can the tying process be performed without bending at the waist, but the belt around the waist and shoulders allows the entire body to support the weight of the device, significantly reducing physical strain. By reducing the load on the arms, it is expected that the workload per unit of time will increase.

Traditionally, when tying rebars, people use a tying device (Hacker) or a hand-held automatic tying machine, but tying rebars at the foot requires bending down to do the job, which is a burden.
