On December 9, Fund Creation (Chiyoda, Tokyo), a consolidated subsidiary of the Fund Creation Group, formed a tie-up with Elevista (Chuo-ku, Tokyo), which operates the SOLSEL trading platform for solar power plants. announced that it has started a business to purchase low-voltage commercial solar power plants.
This business will be carried out through a special purpose company (SPC), and we plan to purchase several properties by the end of the year. Low-voltage commercial solar power is a large market with an installed capacity of 16.9 million kW (16.9 GW), creating an environment in which highly profitable investment opportunities can be obtained if contact is made with individual investors, who are the main investor base. It is said that
Funds will be raised by structuring a fund, and the company group will make a silent partnership investment in the SPC as seed money, and the dead (debt) portion will be procured from the outside. In the future, we will accept silent partnership investment from outside investors and aim to expand the fund scale.
With the start of the feed-in tariff system (FIT), the company group has developed mega solar power plants (large-scale solar power plants) that are connected mainly to high-voltage distribution lines and extra-high-voltage transmission lines. So far, 10 mega-solar plants have been developed with a total output of 17.4MW. In the future, the solar power generation business will aim to secure further profits through mega solar and low-voltage commercial solar power.
In the mega-solar field that the company has been working on so far, the strengthening of global decarbonization efforts is a tailwind, and renewable energy investment is booming, and the competition to acquire projects is intensifying. In addition to the conventional solar power generation business that uses FIT, the company plans to expand its business by actively working on new methods such as non-FIT solar power generation business and selling power through corporate PPA (power purchase agreement).
