Dawsongroup đưa vào vận hành máy phát điện hydro JCB đầu tiên trên thế giới

Công ty cung cấp tài sản thương mại Dawsongroup (mảng energy solutions) đã tiếp nhận máy phát điện chạy bằng hydro đầu tiên trên thế giới do JCB phát triển, đánh dấu bước tiến mới trong ứng dụng hydro cho nguồn điện tạm thời.
Thiết bị G60RS H sử dụng động cơ đốt trong hydro tiên phong của JCB, mang lại công suất, hiệu suất và độ tin cậy tương đương máy diesel, nhưng không phát thải carbon tại điểm sử dụng. Máy được bổ sung vào đội thiết bị gồm 155 máy phát Stage III và Stage V của Dawsongroup, với công suất từ 20kVA đến 500kVA.
Theo ông Paul Ridley, trong ngành điện tạm thời, độ tin cậy và hiệu quả là yếu tố then chốt. Việc đầu tư vào công nghệ hydro giúp khách hàng tiếp cận giải pháp năng lượng mới ngay từ giai đoạn đầu, đặc biệt trong bối cảnh nhu cầu điện cho trung tâm dữ liệu tăng mạnh do AI và dịch vụ số.
Máy phát hydro này dự kiến sẽ được triển khai làm nguồn điện dự phòng cho trung tâm dữ liệu – lĩnh vực yêu cầu nguồn điện ổn định cao nhưng đang chịu áp lực lớn về giảm phát thải. Hydro được xem là giải pháp thay thế carbon thấp mà không ảnh hưởng đến hiệu suất vận hành.
Cốt lõi của hệ thống là động cơ hydro do JCB phát triển trong chương trình đầu tư trị giá 100 triệu bảng Anh. Máy phát kết hợp với hệ thống Powerpack ba pha để tạo thành “microgrid” tại chỗ, sử dụng song song pin điện và hydro.
Trong mô hình này, năng lượng tái tạo sẽ sạc pin, còn máy phát hydro chỉ hoạt động khi cần bổ sung điện hoặc khi tải tăng đột biến. Cách vận hành này giúp giảm tiêu thụ nhiên liệu và cho phép hệ thống hoạt động yên tĩnh trong thời gian dài.
Động thái này cho thấy hydro đang dần mở rộng ứng dụng thực tế trong các lĩnh vực như xây dựng, sự kiện, truyền thông và đặc biệt là trung tâm dữ liệu—nơi yêu cầu cao về cả hiệu suất và tính bền vững.
Dawsongroup Deploys World’s First JCB Hydrogen Generator

Commercial asset provider Dawsongroup (energy solutions division) has taken delivery of the world’s first hydrogen-powered generator developed by JCB, marking a significant step in hydrogen adoption for temporary power.
The new G60RS H generator is powered by JCB’s hydrogen combustion engine, delivering the same power, performance, and efficiency as diesel units, but without carbon emissions at the point of use. It joins a fleet of 155 generators ranging from 20kVA to 500kVA.
According to Managing Director Paul Ridley, reliability and efficiency are critical in the temporary power sector. Investing in hydrogen enables customers—especially those already showing strong interest—to explore next-generation energy solutions early.
The generator will initially be deployed as backup power for a data centre, where demand is rapidly increasing due to AI and digital services, alongside growing environmental scrutiny. Hydrogen offers a lower-carbon alternative without compromising operational performance.
At the core of the system is JCB’s hydrogen engine, developed under a £100 million programme. The generator works alongside a three-phase Powerpack to create on-site microgrids combining battery-electric and hydrogen technologies.
In this setup, renewable energy charges the battery system, while the hydrogen generator operates only when needed—either during peak loads or to top up storage. This reduces fuel consumption and allows for extended low-noise operation.
The deployment highlights the expanding role of hydrogen in real-world applications, particularly in sectors requiring reliable, flexible, and sustainable power solutions such as construction, events, and data infrastructure.
