The Japan Institute of Architects (JIA, Chairman Masaharu Rokuka) has formulated a pamphlet "SDGs x Architects: Four Tips for Facing Architecture". He reconsidered the work of architects and set out a guideline for how to contribute to the achievement of the goals set forth in the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals). Not only will the architect fulfill the responsibility of "creating the building properly", but the architect and local residents will also be involved, and the building will be used carefully while being maintained, aiming for a building that coexists with the community and the environment.
On the 16th, we had a press conference at the Architects' Hall JIA in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, and unveiled the pamphlet. At the meeting, Chairman Rokuka said, "People who are working on urban development, those who want to build their own buildings and work hard, those who want to think about connections between people, and everyone in society will pick up the pamphlet and be an architect. I would like you to think about your contribution to the SDGs together with us. "

He said that he was particular about the expression method such as choosing words from the thought that "I want to write what I can do properly as an architect with my feet on the ground" (Chairman Rokuka).
