At the Japan Pavilion during COP30 in Belém (Brazil), the Ministry of the Environment, Japan (MOE Japan), held an important meeting at 16:30 JST on November 20.

The meeting brought together ministers and senior representatives from partner countries of the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM). Participants provided updates on the progress of JCM implementation in their respective countries, including project development, emission reduction results, and supporting policy frameworks.
Delegates also discussed ways to strengthen bilateral and multilateral cooperation to support each other in achieving their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). Key topics included accelerating technology transfer, developing high-feasibility emission-reduction projects, enhancing coordination on measurement–reporting–verification (MRV), and improving access to climate finance.
The discussion reaffirmed the JCM’s role as an effective cooperation platform between Japan and its partner countries in promoting emission reductions and advancing low-carbon development pathways. This meeting also served as one of the highlight events at the Japan Pavilion during COP30, demonstrating Japan’s strong commitment to international collaboration on climate action.
