On the 24th, the National Institute of Quantum and Radiological Science and Technology (QST) announced that the nuclear fusion test equipment "JT-60SA" (Naka City, Ibaraki Prefecture) has begun operating dynamic. It is the successor to the JT-60, which continued to operate until 2008 and achieved first plasma (start of operation) 10 years after the start of equipment assembly in 2013. Knowledge gained from The JT-60SA operation will be used in the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) project and the development of a prototype nuclear fusion reactor.

JT-60SA successfully created plasma
JT-60SA was jointly manufactured by Japan and Europe for the purpose of training human resources to participate in additional research for ITER and nuclear fusion research.
