In July 2023, JERA announced the creation of a new entity ``JERA Ventures'' that will handle corporate venture capital (CVC) . The plan is to invest a total of $300 million over eight years until 2030 in decarbonization startups. We asked Kensuke Oyama, senior promoter of the Financial Strategy Department, JERA Financial Development Department, who is responsible for operations management at JERA Ventures, about the founding background and his thoughts.
