Noritz invests 70 billion yen in decarbonization, develops hydrogen fuel equipment, etc.
Noritz Corporation, a major water heater company, has announced plans to invest a total of 70 billion yen in product development and capital investment for decarbonization for eight years until 2029. In anticipation of expanding the use of electricity and hydrogen from renewable energy, we will work on the development of electric heat pump water heaters and hydrogen fuel equipment. By 1950, the aim is to virtually eliminate carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions when using products manufactured and sold in Japan and overseas, leading to carbon neutrality.
Of the 70 billion yen, 30 billion yen will be allocated for product development. It has also set a goal of reducing CO2 emissions from domestic business establishments by 50% compared to 2018. To achieve this, we will work to utilize renewable energy and improve the efficiency of logistics. Furthermore, in 1950, the policy is to reduce emissions at business establishments, including overseas, to virtually zero.
