Kyushu Electric Power Group Gathers Volunteers for Restoration Support / In Kurume City, Fukuoka, Damaged by Heavy Rains

    In Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture, which was hit by record-breaking heavy rain in July, volunteers are continuing their recovery efforts. One month after the heavy rains, the scars of the disaster still remain here and there, such as efforts to remove the earth and sand that flowed into the premises of private homes. On the 6th, employees of the Kyushu Electric Power Group visited the suburbs of Tanushimaru-cho, Kurume City, where the damage was severe, and carried out desperate support activities in the scorching heat.

    About 50 employees of the Kyushu Electric Power Group and about 50 members of the Kyuden Shoyukai, which is organized by Kyushu Electric Power's business partners, participated in the volunteer activities on the 6th. Participants were divided into groups of about 10 people and rushed to local residents who needed volunteers.
