NEXTCHEM INTEGRATES VALLOUREC'S HYDROGEN STORAGE SYSTEM INTO ITS GREEN AMMONIA PRODUCTION SOLUTION

MAIRE Group – through its subsidiary NextChem – will work with Vallourec to integrate hydrogen storage technology developed by the French company (in which steel giant ArcelorMittal recently became a shareholder; ed.) and called Delphy with its exclusive solution for green ammonia production and marketing of this integrated 'package'.

The two partners – the Italian consortium explained in a note – will study how to incorporate the Delphy storage solution in the Power-to-X and green hydrogen projects in which the MAIRE subsidiary participates as a supplier. global technology level.

NextChem's green ammonia technology is capable of producing carbon-free ammonia using renewable energy and - according to the company developing it, of course - is one of the most competitive solutions in terms of capital investment, apart from offering complete modularization and proven design capabilities with additional digital solutions available for process monitoring and staff training.

According to the partners, this ammonia production technology – already applied in several operating plants – combined with the Delphy underground storage system, will be able to provide a safe, efficient and viable solution economically serving green hydrogen producers and industries. client.

Once the feasibility studies are completed, NextChem Tech (a subsidiary of NextChem) will play an exclusive role as global licensor for the technology package integrating Vallourec's hydrogen storage system and Vallourec's hydrogen storage technology. NextChem's small-scale green ammonia production technology.

Mohammed Nafid, CEO of NextChem Tech, commented: “The integration of the two technologies is an essential element in helping green ammonia production better manage renewable energy intermittency. Our technology portfolio in the field of energy conversion and hydrogen is supplemented with an important tool that will significantly enhance our offering in this area. The collaboration between NextChem Tech and Vallourec marks another important step in implementing MAIRE Group's strategy in the field of sustainable technology.”
