JERA Reduces Stake in Japan's Offshore Wind and Battery Storage Project

On October 2, 2025, JERA transferred a portion of its ownership in the Ishikari Bay New Port offshore wind project, coupled with a battery energy storage system. The 112 MW project commenced commercial operations on January 1, 2024. The divestment was carried out through JERA's renewable energy subsidiary. Despite the reduced stake, JERA continues to play a significant role in the development and operation of the project. This strategic move allows JERA to broaden its partnerships and enhance financial capacity in the renewable energy sector.
