On the 13th, the penetration ceremony for the "Ai no Mori Tunnel," which is being constructed by the Shikoku Regional Development Bureau in Ozu City, Ehime Prefecture, was held in the local tunnel pit. Sponsored by Penta-Ocean Construction, which is in charge of construction. About 60 people from the local community and people involved in the construction attended and celebrated the penetration by performing the first street of the penetration point and the Kagamibiraki.
As part of the prefectural road replacement work (extension 6.2 km) associated with the Yamadori-zaka Dam construction project, the tunnel is 2,128 meters long and connects the Minokoshi district and the Kamikanogawa district. It has one lane on each side and a cross-sectional area of 45 square meters. NATM was adopted and drilling started in March 2019. In addition to the steep alignment and steep slope, excavation is directly below the Tsukinoo area on the departure side and close to the Minokoshi area on the arrival side, so measures were taken to reduce noise and vibration during the blasting work, such as soundproof doors and controlled blasting.
At the ceremony, Yuki Tominaga, Mayor of Mi-no-koshi Ward, Hijikawa-cho, Kodai-shi, and Seiwa Kawakami, Managing Executive Officer and General Manager of Shikoku Branch of Penta-Ocean Construction, pushed the switch for penetration blasting. Construction site manager Masatoshi Shimoe reported the penetration.
Takuto Saigyo, Representative Director of Saigyo Construction Co., Ltd., who was active in the excavation work, uttered three cheers. Mr. Kawakami, the branch manager, expressed his determination, saying, ``We put our technology to good use.
The construction period is until March 31, 2011. Kokusai Kogyo was in charge of the design. It occupies half of the primary switching section (4.2 km) of the prefectural road. Aiming to start operation in 2013. With this penetration, we will make a big step toward starting construction of the main body of the Yamadori-zaka Dam, which is targeted for the same year.
