The solar power plants that will begin operations are "Coop Sapporo Kitami City Rubeshibe-cho Onneyu Onsen Power Plant", "Coop Sapporo Kitami City Rubeshibe-cho Atsawa Power Plant No. 2", "Coop Sapporo Kitami Power Plant No. City Rubeshibe-cho Mizuho", and "Showa Sapporo Kitami Power Plant", Sapporo Kitami City Rubeshibe-cho Atsawa Daiichi Power Plant.
Both will be low-voltage commercial solar power plants with a solar panel capacity of 99kW and a grid-connected capacity of 49.5kW. Coop Sapporo owns each power plant and uses a self-deposit system to supply electricity to Coop Sapporo stores. HE Energy provides EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) services.
The company plans to operate up to 200 solar power plants by September 2025. It will provide about 19GWh of electricity per year, equivalent to 14.13% of the electricity used by Coop Sapporo in store operations and is expected to reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 5,900 tons per year.
