Brother Industries will introduce an "onsite/offsite composite PPA service" that integrates the onsite PPA (power purchase agreement) and offsite PPA provided by Chubu Electric Miraise (Nagoya City). Announced on January 23rd.

A solar power generation facility with a panel output of approximately 600 kW was installed on the roof of Brother's distribution warehouse "Minato No. 1 Warehouse" in Nagoya City. The generated power will be consumed by the company itself, and surplus power will be supplied to the Brother Museum located in the Brother headquarters area in Nagoya City through the general power transmission and distribution network, and the excess power will be used in the headquarters building. It is scheduled to start operating in February.

Annual power generation is expected to be 600,000 kWh, about half of which will be self-consumed at Port No. 1 Warehouse. About 60% of the electricity used by each facility is solar power, about 80% for the Brother Museum, and about 10% for the head office building. It is also expected to reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 230t annually.

The "Brother Group Environmental Vision 2050" advocates carbon neutrality in the business activities of the Brother Group by 2050. In addition, in the medium-term strategy "CS B2024", we set the reduction of CO2 emissions as one of the materiality (important issues), and set a 9% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions from FY2022 to FY2024. We aim to be carbon neutral by the end of the fiscal year.
