On May 31, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism signed the "Building Wood Utilization Promotion Agreement" with two organizations that are active in training wooden building leaders and promoting the spread of wooden buildings utilizing fireproof structure technology. The two-party agreement was signed between the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and the JBN National Construction Shop Association (Chairman Toshiji Ohno) ▽ Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and the Japan Wooden Fireproof Building Association (Chairman Kazuyoshi Kimura). On the same day, Kasumigaseki, Tokyo, held an agreement conclusion ceremony at the Forestry Agency.

Under the agreement with JBN / National Association of Construction Companies, we will promote the development of human resources such as building carpenters who are familiar with wooden construction and the use of domestic timber at regional construction shops. The association works to develop human resources such as carpenters, site supervisors, and designers. We aim to achieve more than 600 carpenter skill training participants and 1000 or more wood utilization seminar participants. To train women involved in the construction of wooden houses (target 500 or more), popularize wooden buildings in the fields of low-rise non-houses and medium- and large-scale buildings, and supply 10,000 high-quality houses certified by JBN annually. Pour power.

Under the agreement with the Japan Wooden Fireproof Building Association, we aim to popularize medium- and high-rise, large-scale fireproof wooden buildings that utilize fireproof structural technology. The association will promote activities to promote the spread of such buildings, create manuals, disseminate information on good practices, and spread the significance of timber use.

Under both agreements, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries will provide information on various measures, cooperate in exchanging opinions, and support the dissemination and publicity of the activities of each organization.
At the ceremony, Mr. Takashi Amaha, Director General of the Forestry Agency, said that it was "very significant" for the conclusion of the agreement. Hideyuki Shiomi, Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (in charge of the Housing Bureau), said, "I hope that we will work together to spread the use of timber throughout the country with the conclusion of the agreement."

Chairman Ohno stated his determination, "We will continue to meet the needs of wooden construction by promoting initiatives such as securing and training leaders, education such as improving technical quality, and active participation by women." Chairman Kimura said, "From Japan, the country of wood culture, we will show the future city to the world. We will lead the world with the wooden structure. Let's make a forest in the city. Let's make a wooden city."
