``Wallet rather than CO2 reduction'', EV buyers are more conscious of fuel efficiency due to soaring prices

The automobile industry is trying to shift to EVs to reduce CO2 emissions. However, in the case of Japan, hybrid vehicles have been introduced for more than 10 years to improve fuel efficiency, and although companies and governments are aware of environmental measures, users are more likely to get better fuel economy than reduce CO2 emissions. You may be more aware of the fact that you can save money on gasoline.

Nonetheless, EVs are appearing one after another from various companies, the options are increasing, and the government is providing subsidies to spread the use of EVs, and the desire to buy EVs is finally increasing. Under such circumstances, "Enegaeru", a diagnosis of the economic effects of solar power and storage batteries, is conducting a questionnaire survey targeting EV purchasers as an "Awareness Survey on Interest in Self-Consumption of Renewable Energy".

First of all, 48.6% of the top reasons for considering purchasing an EV were "because of subsidies" and "because of soaring gasoline prices", and the third was "I want to use it together with solar power." This is followed by 41.4% of "From". After all, there seems to be a strong reason for wanting to reduce fuel costs, as well as being able to purchase at a good price now that there is a subsidy.

Next, in response to the question, "Do you want to reduce your electricity bills by purchasing EVs and using renewable energy for your own consumption in response to the recent surge in fuel and electricity costs?" combined accounted for 95.5%.

Also, in response to the question, "What is the pattern of self-consumption of renewable energy that you would like to use to reduce fuel and electricity costs?" at home)” (43.2%), followed by “solar power + EV + V2H” (41.4%). In this area, "I want to use it as a set with solar power" is in the 3rd place as a reason for considering purchasing an EV, so it can be said that if you choose an EV, you are also thinking about reviewing your utility costs.

However, for those who answered "EV only" or "I don't know/not particularly" in the above question, when asked "What do you feel anxious about when self-consuming renewable energy?" 62.4% of respondents answered that it is expensive, followed by 38.7% of respondents who answered that “running costs are unclear”.

On the other hand, for those who did not answer "EV only" or "I don't know / not particularly", I asked "Have you made a trial calculation of the economic effect of reducing electricity bills using solar power and V2H?" 52.6%, and 40.9% to do from now on. Considering the cost, some people want to introduce EV and shift to self-consumption of renewable energy.

There is no change in the trend of reducing CO2 emissions worldwide and shifting automobiles to EVs, but recently the EU changed its policy of not allowing engine vehicles after 2035, and only engine vehicles that use synthetic fuel are allowed. I decided to admit However, it seems that biofuels, which are currently used in some areas, will not be accepted, and it is unclear whether driving on synthetic fuels, which still requires technological innovation, is feasible.

A large amount of CO2 is still generated to generate electricity, and there is also the issue of how to secure a large amount of electricity when the world becomes EV only. It may be an opportunity to raise awareness to consider self-consumption of renewable energy.
