    During the 2025 European Hydrogen Week in Brussels, international experts highlighted China's significant advancements in hydrogen energy, particularly in deployment and the development of a comprehensive industrial ecosystem.

    “Industrial Valley” Model

    Willem-Jeroen Stevens, Managing Partner of Clear (Netherlands), noted that China employs an “industrial valley” model, where complete supply chains thrive within a connected region, reducing costs and enhancing research and production efficiency.

    Hydrogen Investment and Production

    According to Hydrogen Europe, China leads globally in hydrogen investment by 2030 and accounts for the majority of global hydrogen production. In 2022, China's annual hydrogen output reached approximately 33 million tonnes.

    Collaboration Between Academia and Industry

    Khaled Nageib, CEO of Egypt Hydrogen, commented that China produces high-quality electrolyzers that are competitive with European products, thanks to close collaboration between research institutes and businesses, accelerating technological upgrades.

    Encouragement for Direct Exploration

    Eugene McKenna, Senior Vice President of Hydrogen & Sustainable Technologies at Johnson Matthey, encouraged European experts to visit China to directly experience and learn from the effective strategies and execution in the hydrogen energy sector.
