    Tokyu and Tokyu Recreation opened the complex "Tokyu Kabukicho Tower" under construction in Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo to the media on the 6th. A live hall, a theater, a movie theater, and two hotels are housed in a building with a total area of ​​about 87,000 square meters. Each facility except the hotel is scheduled to open on the 14th.

    The construction site is Kabukicho 1-29-1, 3 (place name lot number, site area 4604 square meters) on the site of Shinjuku Milanoza, which closed in 2014. Close to the east side of Seibu Shinjuku Station. The building has 5 floors below ground and 48 floors above ground, with a total of 87,400 square meters. The height is about 225 meters. The building was designed by Kume Sekkei and Tokyu Engineering Consultant JV, and construction was done by Shimizu Corporation and Tokyu Construction JV. The exterior was designed by Yuko Nagayama Architects.

    The facility is set up with the concept of "a place to master your favorite things". Shinjuku's largest live hall that can accommodate about 1,500 people and a theater with about 900 seats will be prepared. A movie theater with eight screens and a restaurant welcome visitors. It contains a hotel with 635 guest rooms.

     The first event to open will be a collaboration project with the popular anime "Evangelion". Of the two hotels, "HOTEL GROOVE SHINJUKU" (Hotel Groove Shinjuku) offers rooms (pictures) with motifs of anime characters for a limited time.

     Before the opening, Tokyu's Shinjuku Project Planning and Development Department Manager and TST Entertainment President Tomoro Kimura commented, "The project started under COVID-19, and I wanted to create a symbolic tower that could overcome the adversity." He thanked the people involved in the construction of the facility, and said, "I want to create a bright future for Kabukicho."

     The building will be completed on January 11th, and the hotel is scheduled to open on May 19th.
