AICHI PREFECTURE/TUNNEL NO. 473 TSUKI/KANDA (SHITARA TOWN, AICHI PREFECTURE) HAS BROKEN GROUND AND CONSTRUCTION WILL BE CARRIED OUT BY MAEDA CONSTRUCTION JOINT VENTURE.

    The groundbreaking ceremony for the ``Construction Works of the Joint National Highway 473 Road Improvement Project Tsuki Tunnel (tentative name) and Kanda Tunnel (tentative name)'' constructed by Aichi Prefecture was held near the entrance entered the mine in Toei Town on the 19th. Construction was a joint venture between Maeda Construction, Taikei Construction and Hatano Gumi. The aim is to complete the Tsuki Tunnel by 2026 and the Kanda Tunnel by 2027.

Then, Director of Harakatsu Prefecture Shinjo Shitara Construction Office presented an overview of the project.

    The two tunnels will form a new route, the ``Moon Bypass'', which will replace existing sections with poor alignment. Contribute to ensuring safe, secure and smooth transportation access. Excavation will proceed from east to west. The Tsuki Tunnel is 1,877 meters long and the Kanda Tunnel is 480 meters long. The width of the tunnel is 9.5 meters.
