Mayor Yamanaka / Yokohama and Mayor Fukuda / Kawasaki (26th, Yokohama City) who signed a cooperation agreement

On the 26th, Yokohama City and Kawasaki City signed a cooperation agreement to expand the utilization of next-generation energy such as hydrogen. The two cities, which have coastal industrial areas that emit a large amount of greenhouse gases, have so far signed agreements with companies to develop hydrogen supply networks. We will work together in a wide area toward a carbon-free society, and both cities will work together to accelerate efforts such as creating demand.
Kawasaki City has the highest greenhouse gas emissions in government-designated cities, of which 73% are in coastal areas. So far, a hydrogen pipeline has been constructed in the coastal area, and the "carbon neutral complex concept" has been promoted.
Under this agreement, we will jointly promote the construction of a supply system for hydrogen, including pipelines, the implementation of demonstration experiments, and the expansion of demand.
At a press conference on the same day, Mayor Takeharu Yamanaka of Yokohama City said, "The cooperation between the two cities will be Japan's largest supply chain for next-generation energy such as hydrogen. We would like to promote technological development and large-scale investment as a model district." .. Mayor Norihiko Fukuda of Kawasaki City responded, "I want to further expand the network of consumers."
