Morioka City / Naming rights introduced to Iwate Morioka Ballpark, recruitment procedures started

Naming rights (facility naming rights) will be introduced to the "Iwate Morioka Ballpark," which is being developed by Iwate Prefecture and Morioka City within Morioka Minami Park. According to the application guidelines published by the city, the desired contract amount is 10 million yen or more per year. The period is assumed to be five years from April 2023 to March 2028. It is possible to make proposals that include company names and product names, with the condition that they be nicknamed using "Ball Park."
Recruitment will be accepted until September 14th at the Morioka Minami Park Ballpark Maintenance Office, Sports Promotion Division, Exchange Promotion Department. A screening committee consisting of prefectural and city officials discusses and selects preferred negotiators. Promptly conclude a contract after consultation.
"Construction work related to the Morioka Minami Park Baseball Stadium (provisional name) development project" will construct and operate a baseball field with a capacity of 20,000 people and an indoor practice field under the BTO (construction, transfer and operation) method of PFI. The PFI operator is Morioka Minami Ball Park, a special purpose company (SPC) invested by Shimizu Corporation. The total project cost is about 10.8 billion yen, and it is scheduled to be completed by the end of March 2023.
The design is a joint venture between Environmental Design Institute, Shimizu Corporation, and Kuji Sekkei. The environmental design research institute and Kuji Sekkei JV are in charge of construction supervision, and Shimizu Corporation and Ryowa Construction JV are carrying out construction. The construction site is Nagai 7-16-2. The entire facility, including the baseball stadium, will be made of steel with a total area of 20,918 square meters.
