The parent company, au Energy HD, is responsible for the management business of the energy business companies under its umbrella, as well as the planning, drafting, and promotion of business strategies. The new company will be the third company under the umbrella of au Energy & Life, a power retail business for individuals, and Eneris, a supply and demand management support and aggregator.
Through energy consumption such as electricity, KDDI emits approximately 1 million tons of CO2 annually, which is equivalent to approximately 400,000 households. Of this amount, 98% is the power used by base stations, communication stations, and data centers, and further increases are expected due to the spread of 5G and the increase in communication traffic.
KDDI aims to achieve net zero CO2 emissions from its own business activities by FY2030, and net zero CO2 emissions for the entire KDDI Group by 2050.
