    October 1, 2025 – Personnel & Appointments

    Mr. Yusuke Yorikami

Focusing on the company’s strengths in maritime and land-based civil engineering to secure stable earnings, Mr. Yorikami also aims to capture orders in the expanding offshore wind power sector, charting a path for future growth. He emphasizes “bottom-up management” and “communication with employees,” working to create a workplace where employees feel pride and fulfillment.

    Your aspirations upon taking office?
“My basic stance will not change, but I will further cut waste, maintain a lean organizational structure, and make use of the experience we have accumulated in maritime and land civil engineering. Through calm judgment, I will strengthen profitability and build a sustainable management base. A company exists thanks to everyone’s efforts. I want people on site to speak up without hesitation.”

    What is your management policy?
“The foundation is bottom-up. To respond to a rapidly changing social and economic environment, I will listen to voices from the field and from employees, and make flexible management decisions. Daily communication is essential for this. I want to deepen exchanges across generations and positions, and further strengthen trust. While DX (digital transformation) is necessary to raise productivity, fundamentally it is human connections that give strength to the organization.”

    What is your order-receiving strategy?
“While focusing on maritime and land-based civil engineering, we will also balance orders in building and environmental projects. Possessing work vessels is our strength, but we have streamlined to five main vessels: three crane ships, one mixer ship, and one large transport ship. Vessel ownership is not the goal itself; we will adjust flexibly according to circumstances.

One growth field is offshore wind power. We jointly own an SEP (self-elevating platform) vessel with Penta-Ocean Construction and Kajima. We will utilize our track record from the Kitakyushu Hibikinada Offshore Wind Power Project, among others, to engage in the expectedly growing offshore wind sector. We will also proactively address large-scale projects such as the Hanshin Expressway Osaka Bay Route West Extension, defense-related works at Camp Schwab in Okinawa and Mage Island in Kagoshima. Sales are important, but I will place emphasis on securing profits and appropriate personnel allocation.”

Securing human resources is a challenge.
“We will convey the attractiveness of the construction industry through outreach lectures at technical high schools. We will also strengthen PR activities such as advertising at Kobe Station and using annual seats at Kobe Arena, while enhancing employee benefits. We will expand recruitment regardless of science or humanities background, gender, and strive to create an environment where people can feel both comfort and motivation at work.”

    What about work style reform?
“Through DX initiatives, we will visualize attendance and man-hours to prevent overwork in advance. We will issue alerts at each site to curb overtime, establish systems that ensure employees can take vacations, and enhance management precision. I want to build an organization that takes on challenges with flexible thinking and shares achievements together.”
