Suzuyo procures from 20 locations for solar and low voltage business through external PPAs

Suzuyo Shoji (Shizuoka City) signed an external PPA (power purchase agreement) with Suzuyo (Shizuoka City) on August 20 and will supply renewable energy electricity to Suzuyo's headquarters area (headquarters and annex) from August. has started supplying. Combined with fossil-free certificates, we will achieve zero carbon emissions by using almost 100% renewable energy.

Under the PPA, electricity will be purchased from 20 low-voltage commercial solar power plants with grid-connected capacity below 50 kW to be newly constructed in the Chubu area (Shizuoka City), and renewable energy electricity will be supplied and sold to Suzuyo for 20 years.

Although the amount of electricity supplied has not been disclosed, the company plans to use solar power to meet as much of the electricity used in the Suzuyo headquarters area as possible. For electricity during times when solar power cannot be generated, such as at night, fossil-free certificates derived from renewable energy will be purchased through Suzuyo Electric Power Company.

In addition, Suzuyo Shoji will purchase J-Credit to offset greenhouse gas emissions from fossil fuels such as gas for hot water supply in buildings and gasoline for company-owned vehicles. This will reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions (direct emissions and indirect emissions from purchased electricity) in the Suzuyo Headquarters area to almost zero. The expected reduction effect is 484t-CO2.
