On the 22nd, Obayashi Group developed a system that uses drones and quadruped robots to measure land on a large scale and detect sources of radiation. It can be used to test soil on behalf of humans at facilities involving radioactive waste, etc.
At nuclear facilities and intermediate storage facilities, extensive soil radiation testing is required. Fixed-point observations using monitoring stations and walking surveys are underway, but the technology to measure large areas of land has not yet been established. Therefore, the company developed this system in cooperation with Mirai Giken, Kikuchi Seisakusho and Matsuura Denkosha.
