On March 14, the company and Fuyo General Lease announced that they have agreed to develop a new grid-connected battery business. RS Asset Advisors will be responsible for development work such as site selection, acquisition negotiations, grid security and business plan development, as well as operation and management of the battery storage system upon completion. Fuyo General Lease will own the storage facility, select the battery manufacturer and aggregator, and operate it upon completion.
This will be the first joint project between the two companies in the field of grid storage batteries. Furthermore, for Fuyo General Lease, this will be the second grid storage battery project that does not rely on multiple subsidy and funding systems, following the project in Chikushino City, Fukuoka Prefecture. The project is expected to go into operation in May 2026.
Additionally, on February 25, RS Asset Advisors and Maeda Construction announced that they have agreed to develop the Aomori Sannohe County Battery, a grid-connected battery storage facility, in Gonohe Town, Aomori Prefecture. The plant will have an output capacity of 1,969kW and a capacity of 8,000kWh, and will be connected to the Tohoku Electric Power grid. The project is scheduled to begin operations in August 2026.
In addition to the investment from both companies, RS Asset Advisors will be responsible for all development and administrative tasks, including site selection, acquisition negotiations, grid security, and business planning. Maeda Group will develop strategies related to technology and operations, including EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) for the energy storage plant, selection of battery manufacturers and aggregators, and consideration of maintenance training contracts.
This will be the first project based on the grid battery business cooperation agreement signed in October 2024 between parent companies RS Holdings and Infronia Holdings. The two companies will continue to cooperate in the high-voltage grid battery business, while also developing ultra-high voltage projects.
