Demand for common wood pellets, black wood pellets and palm oil for biomass power generation in Japan and Korea is increasing. One of the reasons for the increased demand is the zero emissions target programs by 2050 that governments have committed to.

From 2020, Vietnam has emerged as the second largest pellet and wood chip producer in the world, just behind the United States. However, production organizations in Vietnam are individual and the source of raw materials has not been sustainably supplied. In the coming time, Pacific Group makes recommendations to establish the Association of Enterprises producing and exporting tablets.

The trend of using black tablets has appeared in Japan and Korea. This type of fuel will be co-fired in coal-fired power plants and will eventually replace coal. Tablet manufacturers in Vietnam can take advantage of research and receive technology transfer to make black tablets, the type of tablet with higher value than regular tablets.

In addition, renewable energy developers in Vietnam need to cooperate in developing a biomass thermal power project, using agricultural by-products as fuel, helping to provide a clean and sustainable energy supply.
