JAC will be the test implementation body in the decision to reorganize the specific skills / work category, and respond to the expansion of the scope of work
In line with the reorganization and integration of work divisions when accepting foreigners with specified skills in the construction field, the exams required to obtain the status of residence for specified skills will be revamped. Construction Skills Human Resources Organization (JAC, Chairman Kenji Minowa) will be assigned to each of the three new business categories, ▽Civil engineering ▽Construction ▽Lifelines and equipment-on behalf of each specialized construction industry association that has been responsible for preparing and implementing tests so far. changed the way the test was conducted. In order to acquire specialized skills for each job type after passing the examination, JAC and each organization will work together to coordinate and enhance training and training.
On the 30th, the government made a cabinet decision to revise the operation policy for the construction sector regarding the status of residence system for specified skilled workers. A new classification has been established as a loose framework that can cover all work related to the construction industry. It is now possible to accept specific skills even in occupations other than the conventional 19 categories.
A new test led by JAC will begin within the year. Until now, the exam evaluated skills in both "academic" and "practical skills," but after the reorganization and integration, the content of the exam is expected to be limited to confirming general knowledge in each of the three categories. Training will be enhanced in a way that complements this. The old exams by each organization that have already been decided will be implemented as scheduled, and from 2023, the new exams will be fully implemented.
There is also a way to switch from technical intern training to applying for a status of residence. If the conventional 19 categories and technical intern training occupations did not overlap, it was difficult to transition to specific skills. The three new divisions allow flexibility in assigning various occupations. A smooth transition from technical intern training is also expected to progress.
Before the division of work was subdivided, it was pointed out that the scope of work of individual technicians was limited to certified occupations.
In the future, it will be possible to work like a multi-skilled worker within the framework of the three categories. For example, when engaging in structural construction, the scope of work expands to each construction such as rebar, formwork, and jumping work in the building section.
If it is a specific type of job that was decided upon acceptance, it is still possible to work across multiple work categories. If you are accepted in a job such as rebar or painting, you can engage in both civil engineering facilities and buildings.
