On the 10th, the JERA Sodegaura Thermal Power Station (Sodegaura City, Chiba Prefecture, LNG, totaling 3.6 million kilowatts) achieved cumulative power generation of 800 billion kilowatt hours for the first time as a JERA thermal power plant. We have been working on operational monitoring, patrol inspections, and monitoring for signs of equipment failure, and have steadily built up a track record of power generation. Nakamura Nakamura, director of the power plant, said, "Thanks to all the people who have been involved from construction to operation. We couldn't have achieved this without the cooperation of the local community, so we are grateful."

The Sodegaura Thermal Power Station, located in the Keiyo Industrial Area, started operation of Unit 1 (600,000 kW) in August 1974. Units 2 to 4 (1 million kilowatt each) were the first in Japan to adopt the 1 million kilowatt class, and were put into operation from 1975 to 1979.
