The expected electricity generation output is 75MW, the expected annual electricity generation is about 480 million kWh, equivalent to about 150,000 normal households. It uses 300,000 tons of wood biomass fuel annually. This includes 60,000 tons of wood chips produced mainly from domestic unused thin wood from Kumamoto province and 240,000 tons of wood pellets from Vietnam and Malaysia.
The electricity generated will be sold to Kyushu Electricity Transmission and Distribution based on the feed-in tariff (FIT) system. The electricity selling price based on FIT is 32 yen/kWh for unused domestic materials and 24 yen/kWh for imported materials.
Chubu Electric Power owns 49% of the joint venture, Toho Gas has 37% and Ene Vision has 14%. Regarding equipment manufacturers, boilers are manufactured by IHI, steam turbines are manufactured by Toshiba and generators are manufactured by TMEIC.
IHI and its group company IHI Plant (Koto-ku, Tokyo) will be responsible for EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) services as well as operations and maintenance work. In terms of operations and maintenance, we aim to achieve optimal operation throughout the life of the power plant by undertaking commissioning, inspection, repair and spare parts supply for all plant equipment in the power plant over a period of 20 years.
