On August 27, Smart Blue (Shizuoka City), a solar energy sharing (agricultural solar power generation plant), opened a model farm called "Smart Blue Hamamatsu Farm" in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture as a new model of next-generation agricultural solar power. Utilizing abandoned rice fields, a new standard monopod will be installed to grow Makomodake mushrooms.

The monopod is characterized by a highly independent structure with a small number of parts. Normally, the orthodox wisteria hanger has a structure connected to the boxes, so the risk of chain collapse is considered a problem, but the monopod reduces this risk and is easier to install in the field. It has a high degree of freedom and it also eliminates the problem of mounting the stands, which reduces the efficiency of cultivation.

The plant has started generating electricity and is expected to produce approximately 117,000 kWh per year. The generated electricity will be supplied wholesale to ``Pipa'', a cloud-based solar power generation service provided by UPDATER (Setagaya-ku, Tokyo). Feed-in tariff (FIT) and feed-in tariff (FIP) will not be used.

The makomodake grown is the large stem of the makomodake tree, a member of the grass family. It is a popular ingredient in Chinese cuisine and is said to go well with a variety of dishes because it has a similar shape and texture to bamboo shoots and a mild flavor. The farmer is Smart Green, an agricultural conglomerate within the corporate group.
It has been tested for the past two years. It has been confirmed that it can be grown in rice fields like rice and it grows without any problems when sharing solar energy. Since it is expected to give a yield many times higher than that of rice, we will propose it as a new crop for rice fields where cultivation is becoming more and more popular.
In recent years, the number of abandoned rice fields has been increasing, mainly due to farmers abandoning rice cultivation due to falling rice prices and the need to change the business model of rice fields. By using solar energy sharing, farmers can earn planting commission fees from power generation companies in addition to their agricultural income, which will stabilize their management work.
