On November 13, Japan Benex (Isahaya City, Nagasaki Prefecture) leased the rooftop of the logistics facility "Prologis Park Iwanuma" in Iwanuma City, Miyagi Prefecture, and installed a mega solar power plant (large-scale solar power plant) with an output of 3.8 MW. The Benex Iwanuma Solar Port has started operation. According to the company, it is one of the largest roof rental mega solar plants in Japan.
7616 solar panels were installed on the roof. The panel output is 3846 kW, the grid output is 1999.9 kW, and the overload ratio is 1.92 times. Annual power generation is expected to be approximately 3,798,000 kWh, which is equivalent to that of 1,260 ordinary households. The solar panels are made by Trina Solar of China, and the power conditioner (PCS) is made by Sungrow of China.
Also, on November 3, the company started operation of the roof rental solar power plant "Benex Chiba 1 Solar Port" installed at the distribution facility "Prologis Park Chiba 1" in Chiba City. The solar panel output is 3732.3 kW, the grid output is 1999.9 kW, and the overload ratio is 1.86 times. Annual power generation is expected to be 3,860,000 kWh, equivalent to about 1,300 ordinary households. The solar panels are made by HT Solar in China and the PCS by SMA Solar Technology in Germany.
For both power plants, the electricity sales unit price based on the feed-in tariff (FIT) is 10.7 yen/kWh. It will be a successful bid for the “8th solar power bidding (1st in 2021)” whose results were announced in June 2021. With the operation of both power plants, Japan Benex owns 34 own power plants, totaling 37.9 MW. Of these, 17 are rooftop solar power plants, totaling approximately 28.9 MW.
