Mitsubishi HC Capital announced that it will switch all electricity consumed at its group sites nationwide to renewable energy sources.

Starting in June, this goal will be achieved by purchasing non-fossil value from its subsidiary Mitsubishi HC Capital Energy (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo).

This non-fossil value refers to non-FIT fossil certificates that track renewable energy power plants that use a method of selling electricity other than the Feed-in Tariff (FIT) system or renewable energy power plants that sell electricity based on a Feed-in Tax (FIP).

Mitsubishi HC Capital Energy will provide the non-fossil value of electricity used by the group's renewable energy power plants to Mitsubishi HC Capital through a trading account at the Japan Electric Power Exchange (JEPX).

This method makes it possible to purchase non-fossil fuel value according to the increase or decrease in electricity usage when relocating or expanding offices, regardless of the electricity situation at the new office building.

To date, the group has reduced CO2 emissions by requiring owners of office buildings where offices are located to convert their electricity supply to renewable energy.

In addition, the company has now begun purchasing non-fossil value generated by the group’s renewable energy power plants. This will help reduce CO2 emissions at branch offices located in office buildings that have not yet converted to renewable energy.
