    • Kawasaki Heavy Industries has unveiled "CORLEO," a four-legged bionic robot powered by a hydrogen fuel cell system, showcasing future-ready mobile platform technologies.

    • Featuring advanced off-road mobility, integrated hydrogen storage, and human-machine collaboration controls, CORLEO merges robotics with Kawasaki’s motorcycle and energy innovations.

Kawasaki Heavy Industries Group will unveil its 2050 concept model, CORLEO, at the Future Life Expo - Future City (hereinafter "Future City"), a showcase event for future society at the 2025 World Expo, Japan (hereinafter "Osaka-Kansai Expo"), which is scheduled to open on April 13, 2025 .

CORLEO is a new type of off-road personal mobility with four legs that offers the mobility, stability, and fun of operation that only Kawasaki Heavy Industries Group, which owns the robotics and motorcycle businesses, can offer. The rear legs move up and down independently of the front legs due to the motorcycle's swingarm mechanism. This not only absorbs shocks during movement, but also allows the rider to maintain a posture that makes it easy to check the terrain in the direction of travel. The rider's center of gravity is shifted, just like horse riding. With the support of the machine, even beginners can safely and securely ride on terrain such as mountains and water areas that are difficult for non-experts to ride on tires.

In addition, CORLEO uses hydrogen as fuel, which is an effective solution for realizing a decarbonized society. Hydrogen is stored in a hydrogen canister inserted into the rear legs, and electricity is generated by a hydrogen engine installed in the front legs. Through CORLEO , we hope that people will feel that hydrogen-powered mobility will become more familiar in society.

For its exhibit at the Osaka, Kansai Expo, the Kawasaki Heavy Industries Group decided on the exhibition theme of "Instinct to Move," based on the fact that humans have a genetic code that makes them feel happy when they are moving, and came up with CORLEO . The idea was to unleash the human instinct to move in a spectacular natural setting, where people can race up mountains, enjoy the clear air, and take in spectacular views.

At the Yumeshima site of the Osaka-Kansai Expo, you will be able to see CORLEO in various poses, and we will also be exhibiting the ALICE Rail , which captures the moment when the ALICE Cabin , the core of the future public transportation system " ALICE SYSTEM ," is connected. Please make a reservation for the "City of the Future" pavilion and come to the venue to experience our group's mobility of the future.
